Tomy Aquadoodle / Aqua Draw Review

LB got a Tomy Aquadoodle from my SIL for Christmas. She has had them for her four children and raved about how great they were.

I had no idea what one was if I am honest so I’ll have a go at explaining…  It is basically a mat you can draw on using only water.

In the Aquadoodle box you will find a playmat and a pen. The pen unscrews and is filled with water. It is a thick marker type pen so easy for young children to hold. I thought initially it might be a bit naff and not show up well when you draw on the mat, but I was completely wrong – the mat goes from white to bright pink when drawn on with pen.

LB struggles a bit with the pen at the moment, so we used a paintbrush and a little bowl filled with water and she had loads of fun with it. Had it been paint, she, I and the walls and floors would have been covered. Being only water meant there was practically no clean up required – BONUS!

I would have liked some stamps, rollers or sponges, for variety but I can look online to add these separately and apparently Tomy have a huge range of different colour and design Aquadoodles.

What I also loved about the Aquadoodle is that there were letters and number around the outside that you could trace with the pen to practice writing – I think we will do this a lot as LB gets older.

Rating: 5 / 5 – Messy play without the mess – what a brilliant idea!!
