When I saw Bionsen ask for people willing to try their new range of paraben and aluminium free deodorants I jumped up and down shouting , ‘I do, I do!’
I have always had very sensitive skin and I have suffered a lot with with eczema (it comes and goes and touch wood hasn’t been for a while!) and am also prone to allergic reactions so I am always interested in more natural products and cosmetics. Bionsen’s range are hypoallergenic and free from parabens and aluminium which have been linked to skin irritations and allergic reactions in sensitive skin so I hoped that this would suit me as normal deodorants would often leave my underarms itchy, red and irritated.
On trying other brands marketed as being more natural in the past, I found they would wear off after a couple of hours and leaving me feeling not so fresh so I hoped these would be different.
I was sent a roll on and a pump spray by Bionsen to try (but they also sell a deo stick and an aerosol version).
My biggest surprise when I first used them was that they really do smell gorgeous – they have a smell which reminds me of being at a spa. They smell every bit as fresh as a ‘normal’ deodorant so if you want a more natural deodorant that doesn’t compromise on freshness this may be the one for you!
I preferred the roll on, just because I am used to using a roll on but the pump spray was really nice too and a great alternative to aerosols as I have found aerosols can leave me with a burning sensation. At £2.35 for the roll on and £2.75 for the pump spray (Morrison’s RRP), they are really reasonably priced too compared to other similar products.
Even when wearing all black I got no white marks on my clothes when using these products, and the lasting power really surprised me too. I do tend to sweat a fair bit and I hate when deodorant wears off throughout the day but I found with these that I smell and feel as fresh at midnight when I go to bed as I do when I apply it at 8am.
Rating: 5/5 – I will definitely be buying these from now on!
If you want to try them yourself they are now available at Morrisons, Boots and at http://www.bionsen.co.uk.
